I've had months to prepare, now the countdown is at three days, and somehow things just aren't done for this trip yet. I can't figure out what clothes and shoes to take, so of course I'm still not packed, and I have a To Do list that keeps growing instead of shrinking.
Back from Chicago late last night, I headed off to the golf course with new friends this morning, stopped at the bank, picked up groceries, baked brownies and made black bean salsa for Relay for Life tomorrow, sent e-mails, talked on the phone (okay a lot!), got the car washed, took potted flowering plants to my neighbor's patio for easier watering while I'm gone, drove house plants to another friend for safe keeping, visited and had a glass of wine. And so forth.
Yet as long as I keep growing myself instead of shrinking away like I was afraid of a few months ago, then who cares about that silly list!? And I know when I get on that plane in a few days it will all be done.

How fun! We've been getting e-mail from my goddaughter in Japan and so will look forward to checking yours as well. Know you will have a marvelous time regardless of what shoes you take--just make them comfortable (and perhaps a small bandaid or two)Haven't thought up a nickname, but still tied to a tube probably tells you who I am. Bon Voyage!
That's the thing about those to-do lists, Mommy. Rarely can you fully cross everything out and throw them away. There's probably some metaphor for life in there somewhere... Stay focused on the good these last days and then get yourself on that airplane! love, J

I'm going to carry this post title around in my head today--it's a good mantra.
Have a great time my wonderful Aunt. England is an amazing place and I hope that you discover the magic that pulls me in whenever I think of it.
Windsor is my favorite spot to roam and relax and I hope you get the chance to enjoy it and think of your niece while you relax with a cold drink there :)
Be safe and don't worry about the list --- things will work out no matter how much you stress about getting it done.
Love H.
